Self-taught musician and music fiddler, Hatman creates his music in his home-studio. Greatly inspired by the masters of dub (King tubby's, Lee perry, The Disciples, Manutension,..), he takes special care in destructuring his tracks into several versions using all kinds of effects. Hatman started off in 2004 among Bordeaux collective Natty Breakz (Gary clunk, Subversive, Dub Fighta, Stout system, Selecta Jay) where he was a selector. They performed on various regional stages, namely at Bordeaux's drum 'n bass headquarters Le Lambi. He quickly started producing his own tracks, helped by fellows Gary clunk and Dub Fighta. A first track "Burning Herbs" comes out of these collaborations on EP by Gary Clunk released on German "Dub flash records" in 2005, then a second one "Cameleon" on his first self produced album "First Steps". The encounter with activists of the dub Bordeaux scene (The Dub Machinist, I-tist, Sir Hill, Mousaka, Manutension) and a stay in England will be a turning point for him and and will see him refining his style. He will then release 2 EPs in free download for net.label "French Dub Released" titled "Dub to Dub Showcase vol. 01 et 02". In parallel, he composes exclusive tracks for French sound systems. In 2008, he decides to create his own label with fellow Gary Clunk so as to release their own vinyl productions. Storm & Break records was born. He then focuses on creating new tracks for the label catalogue whether through collaborations with singers or with strictly instrumental tracks.
