L’Imperial Kikiristan is formed in 2006, after more than 200 concerts among Fanfarajà !, throughout Europe and South America. They have performed more than 450 times in France, Switzerland, Germany, England, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, through the Balkans( Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia up to Turkey).
Coming from Kikiristan, country not recognized yet by the international community, these six cultural stateless fellows find refuge in the South of Bourgogne, only carrying with them their official costumes and their instruments.
Fleeing their faraway country for mysterious reasons, they find themselves with no ID and a shark manager. The surprising music of their country is put together in an atomic repertoire received from the fanfares of the world, from the Balkan formations to the Brass Bands of New Orleans, not forgetting free improvisation and contemporary music.
Without attach or electricity, they perform in the most unlikely places, turning the public space in a genuine live performance zone !! L’Imperial Kikiristan then turns from an intimate show into an amazing dance machine that keeps you going till the end of the night!!!
They have already performed at great festivals (Chalon dans la rue, Musiques de rues in Besançon, Paléo festival in Nyon, Rencontres entre les Mondes in Chabeuil, Festival des 6 pompes in La Chaux de Fonds, Durham Brass Festival in Newcastle etc…), events (Tennis ATP Tournament in Lyon, Congress for Nestlé, TV Suisse Romande, EDF, Coupe d’Europe de footbal 2008 etc..) and projects (Balkans 2007, Mesto D in Kirghistan, brass projects with music schools, municipal harmonies).
