1999 : after 5 years' hard work and intense touring in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain alongside artists like Franck Black, Mudhoney, Paradise Lost, B Violet and an album, « Hitchhikers», LAGONY , is repaid for their work with the title of Découvertes Midi Pyrénées at Printemps de Bourges 1999.
The four-piece formula is to take a decisive step with EP « Anadir » and a 30 os so dates tour after their highly remarked performance in Bourges.
End of 99, the band is strengthened by the joining of a second guitarist and start composing a new album.
2001-2002 : « Absomatique », 1st album of the now five-piece band is released on label Hors Normes Productions, nationally distributed by par Mélodie.
Warmly acclaimed by the media and the bookers, the bands reaches at last the recognition it deserves in the French musical milieu.
The tour to follow will count nearly 60 dates, allowing them to share the stage with great names of the French scene :
Noir Désir, Tryo, Mass Hysteria, Kat Onoma, Young Gods …
On renowned festivals like Chorus des Hauts de Seine, Festival du devenir,…
2003 : (willingly) locked-up for several months in their studio, LAGONY have come up with a new opus, « 1936 », where once again the French, Spanish and English lyrics perfectly telescope on a furiously rock thread.
Still, LAGONY don't lose contact with the stage, and met that year renowned artists like Lofofora, Skatalites, Amparanoia, The Unknown, on festivals like Saint Martin d’Arrosa, or le Cap festival…
