Octet de Jean-Pierre Jullian

Jean-Pierre Jullian (born 1958) is a musician with a wide and varied background, ranging from jazz to improvised music, contemporary music and dance (with L. Maubon).
He’s also a composer, and was commissioned by the State to write “Minostère”, an orchestral work first performed at the Montpellier Opera in 1987. In 1998 he presented "Aghià Triadhà” at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Theatre and the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, then in 2002, at the La Seyne-sur Mer Festival, he gave a first performance of “Opus Incertum On C...”, a piece for octet inspired by Bizet’s Carmen.
He also recorded (in 2001) the music for “Racines”, a film by Richard Copans, with the B. Phillips trio, and played in S. Oliva’s quartet in the same year. In 2002, the record "L'ombre de la pluie" was released, where he plays with the trio he formed in 1999 with R. Charmasson and C. Tchamitchian.
