With their eyes and ears firmly riveted in the opposite direction – across the Channel, across the Atlantic, across the Quiévrain (Belgium !), even the most informed French rock critic rarely wonders what’s going down to the other side of the Alps, in the country of banking secrecy, of quilted neutrality, of The Young Gods... understandibly : it took their show-stopping opening performance at the Maroquinerie with fellow artists, Kill The Young, for the Parisian label Volvox Music to take notice of THE RAMBLING WHEELS.
With over 200 concerts, including the biggest Swiss stages (Paleo, FestiNeuch, St.Gall Open Air, Dour) the band was still a trio in 2009 when their first album became an overnight success on the Swiss charts with the single The Late Night Stalker, playing in circles on the highly reputable radio Couleur 3.
If the arrival of their 4th member on keyboards gives the new album ‘The 300,000 Cats of Bubastis’ an electro-disco feel, it’s first single Ready or Not picks up the pace, showcasing the band’s talent and energy, jokingly grabbing, and without complex, into the worlds of pop and disco to feed their rock sound to hungry dancefllors and turntables alike. And if that wasn’t enough – they look great in mustaches...
As for their second single : We’re All Here, after just one listen it’s on auto-play in the brain, just like any self-respecting planetary hit should be. THE RAMBLING WHEELS are definitly a group to watch very closely in 2012...
