French artist born in Algeria, Warida (meaning « tiny rose ») grew up in the suburbs of Lyon. Her childhood with parents and 8 siblings is the happiest one. Her Mum teaches her to sing and it gradually becomes a passion for her. Later on, she studies Law and in the meanwhile works as a supermarket cashier to pay for her music lessons at the Villeurbanne music school.
There, her teacher suggests she becomes a backing singer in a band including Jean-Christophe Treille on cello. Later, as she works in communication, she practices her voice and writes sings with him for 2 hours every night.
Their work bears nice fruits as she signs a record deal with record company « Universal ».Two tracks are recorded at studio l'Hacienda (Tarare, Rhône) : « Alice et Shéhérazade » et « Dam'ra ».
Fond of music, from Madonna to Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Björk, and above all Massive Attack, she works a lot and multiplies encounters (the violins of l'Orchestre National de Lyon, Cheb Mami, Zenzilla, Le Peuple de l'Herbe...). She then records a whole album, still at the Hacienda studio.
