Touk-Touk Company Production is a small business company born in 2010. Under its name were created and commercialized about twelve musicals for a young audience. Touk-Touk Compagny plays over 450 times a year, in front of over 27 000 young viewers and their parents. It currently hires 15 musicians/actors. Recording our musicals became obvious as it matched the audience expectations. Hence, 6 cds took shapes, with a 7th on its way to be released on July 2015.
Ever since its launch 20 years ago –the company first took the form of an association– we emphasize on a high musical quality. We made the statement to never use synthetic music, especially on our records for children, as it is essential in our vision that children could listen to an authentic double bass stringed by its bow. Our last piece of work gives stage to instruments little known from the average auditor (dombra, dobro, jew’s harp). We seek to raise curiosity for unconventional tones from our young audience minds.
More recently, following requests from musicians playing along with us –and from whom we recognize artistic talents and personal values– we are managing French folk music projects. Thus, we placed ourselves as musical editor, thanks to our expertise and know-how, a job that we think is frequently under-appreciated, despite its crucial function within the creative process, be it for concerts or recording sessions.
